Doing Justice, Loving Mercy, and Walking Humbly with our God

Doing Justice, Loving Mercy, and Walking Humbly with our God
Well, I asked many of you to pray that God would help me learn how to live out Micah 6:8 and lead others in living it out as well. He must have heard you because I’ve had a fire in my belly about this lately!

The fire grew throughout February our church celebrated Black History Month, and every week we took time to meditate on God’s heart for justice and reconciliation among all peoples. We culminated the month with a Soul Food Feast prepared by some of our members and their extended family. It was a great time to sit down with each other and celebrate God’s work on behalf of African-Americans.

Also, we are beginning to partner with a nearby top-quality health care clinic for the uninsured – Good Samaritan Clinic. Their mission is to spread the love of Christ through quality health care to those in need! And they are doing an incredible job!

When you walk into this place, it doesn’t look like what you might expect from a “free clinic” – it looks like a nice private practice office. And the staff treats you with dignity and compassion!

Because so much of their work is done by volunteers, our church has the great opportunity to offer all kinds of skills to help this ministry with its mission and to develop relationships with patients that live in our own community! There are multiple ways to contribute – by praying with patients, helping the support staff, or lending medical, dental, or pharmaceutical skills – to name only a few.

There are already 4 of us preparing to volunteer in their prayer room – listening to and praying for patients, even leading them to know Christ, the healer of body and soul. And one of our members is looking to lend her pharmacy skills at the clinic’s pharmacy on her day off! You can find out more about the clinic at

As our ministries of justice and restoration continue to grow, we look forward to partnering with other organizations in our area that are already living out Micah 6:8. Please pray that God would lead us in this endeavor.

Thanks for the great website and encouragement to follow Micah6:8. along with Good Samaritan I can recommend Cobb Pregnancy Services as a place that shows God's mercy to families facing crisis pregnancy and to those who are emotionally scarred by the evil of abortion.

I am not a member of your church. I have been looking for a new church home that my family could attend. I come from a Baptist church and my husband is Catholic. After reading through your web site and now this blog page, I feel that this is a great place to visit. I am exicted to wake up on Sunday and attend church for the first time in over a year. Bless you for all the good works you do!
